Every mom has a story to tell. I’m writing mine as I go; chronicling my experiences with candor; asking questions along the way. Join me as I strive to shake off old stereotypes, tired expectations, and the ever-elusive “right way.” At The Inquisitive Mom, we’re tackling parenting together, one question at a time.
Hi, I’m Mindy.
I love vintage hats, cat eye glasses, and vibrant jewelry. My style is eclectic, although it doesn’t often shine on the average day when I’m usually just grateful for a shower.
I feel like I came into my own in my 30s and I wouldn’t go back to 20 if I could, except to maybe doubt less and risk more.
I’m a passionate writer and I’ll begin my novel any day now. In the meantime, you can find me here musing about a little of everything; from cloth diapers, to feminism, to recipes, to raising kids, to my struggles with depression.
I’m that random person you find yourself chatting with in the grocery store line and my husband says I can talk passionately about anything, from ice cream to politics.
Let’s have a conversation. I love it when readers comment on my blog and Facebook page!
You can also find me on the web as a guest blogger, columnist, and social media consultant. I love throwing a great party, whether it’s on my blog, Twitter, or Facebook.
More Random Facts
My husband and I recently celebrated our 10 year anniversary, then welcomed our 4th baby. I now know what it feels like to know my family is complete. Four and done doesn’t have quite the same ring as the original, but it’s the truth.
We left our native Seattle 7 years ago to pursue work and affordable living in the Midwest. I’ll always consider myself a Washingtonian, but the friendly Midwest, where strangers wave from cars as they drive down your street, suits me.
I discovered that I am a Conquerer of What-Ifs while living in France and England for 3 months in 2014 – with 3 kids, while pregnant. London, I miss you.
You could call me a klutz and it wouldn’t really hurt my feelings. I recently injured myself sweeping the dining room floor, but that’s a story for another time.
I used to despise car trips, but learned they’re a mix of magic and misery during our family’s two cross-country car trips from Illinois/Iowa to Washington.
I want to learn how to DIY in awesome ways; from millinery, to sewing my own fashions, to cake decorating, to upcycling. Maybe when my husband finishes law school next year, I’ll actually have space to DIY. Until then, I mostly dream and sometimes pin.
You can call me a SAHM, WAHM, or even a homemaker (I guess), but don’t refer to me as a housewife or expect to find great housekeeping tips on my blog.
I truly love connecting with people!
