Last night, I wanted to cook the drumsticks waiting in the freezer as a special surprise for my kids. I’d already planned to make cast iron skillet cornbread and ambrosia salad, two family favorites. One problem stood in the way of an easy, family-pleasing dinner: frozen drumsticks. I forgot to defrost them, so did this mean I needed a new main dish? After a bit of research, I discovered that dinner was still possible and I came up with this delicious Frozen Chicken Drumsticks Recipe.
It turns out the trick to cooking delicious frozen drumsticks is increasing the cooking time. If you want a nice, flavorful, crispy skin, you’ll also want to rinse and dry your drumsticks before applying the rub. I am especially happy with this recipe because it uses ingredients you probably already have on hand and can be easily adapted using your favorite spice blends.
With about 1o minutes prep and a little planning ahead for baking time, you can have tasty, juicy chicken drumsticks with a crispy crust. These drumsticks were a hit and I’ll definitely keep them as part of our regular meal plan!

I never defrost my chicken anymore. This has saved me money as I don’t have to throw out thawed out, but spoiled, chicken anymore. The freezer and oven work great.
