Ella opted to watch Ponyo again today and all I could think was, “I do not get this movie. At all.” Somehow Disney saw this Japanese gem of a film and decided they simply had to dub it for American audiences? I don’t know where to begin with this odd film that lacks the charm found in My friend Totoro, another Japanese import. My kids, on the other hand, are enchanted by it. I so wish I’d taken a picture of their slack mouths and captivated expressions while they watched.
This clear gap in perception made me curious. Here I am thinking that they are the strange ones, enchanted by this movie I find beyond weird. But maybe they look at my world and think some of the same things. Quite possibly, from their perspective, Tim and I are the odd ones.
I started imagining what is on their minds throughout the day and thought it must go something like this:
Don’t they know there are good joints with toys?
* Just try standing on the table. You’ll like it.

I’ve oft wondered about that toilet thing. If they get the answer, I’d like to know.
My wife shaves her face and I shave my legs. We are not a traditional couple.
Great pics.
Oh my gosh, this is so funny! And so true! Little ones must think we’re nuts!
