This kid has me wrapped around his little finger.
I’m absolutely smitten with him.
Even when he’s making me crazy and I feel totally exasperated because he wants me to hold him the entire day, it is difficult to remain frustrated.
When I enter the room, he instantly perks up and tracks me with his eyes. If he’s crying and I come to rescue him, he almost always stops without further complaint. He looks at me like I hung the moon and I adore him.
He has big, luminous eyes, the softest skin, and a killer smile. We’re basically inseparable, sometimes literally connected at the hip. At times, I long for some space, but his charm is pretty irresistible.
He, of course, fusses without reason, keeps me up at night, and teethes like crazy. But he has this smile that spreads like wildfire lighting up his eyes.
I adore the way he coos and it makes me laugh when he tries to talk and nurse at the same time. Kai despises tummy time and doesn’t want to be cuddled close. He prefers to be held (always), most often by mom, and standing facing out to see the world.Kai loves to laugh and take the world in. When we pick his sister up from school, he always grins in the delight. The other day, she fell asleep on the couch and he kept smiling at her, waiting for her to entertain. He’s not mobile yet, but you can see in his face that he is ready to move and join in Ella and Ezra’s antics.
He’s my little companion, my kindred spirti, often in a sling or carrier close to me when we go out. I have difficulty remembering life without him. I keep telling myself to get up less with him at night and put him down more, but then he looks up at me with that sad little face and I give in.
I’m in no rush for him to grow up, just enjoying today and each stage as it comes with sweet Kai.
And so are these two!

What can I say, but AWWW! What a cutie. And I can really see the resemblance to your other little ones now, too!
What a sweet blessing to your family. He is an amazing “rainbow baby” – much wanted and needed. Not to mention, he is pretty darn cute! 🙂
What a cutie pie! It’s amazing how a bad day can turn completely around by one smile from our little ones!
