We asked our three kids to come to the table on Friday for family night and a treat. They waited excitedly as their dad turned on the video camera. I presented them with a piece of paper, telling them I had a math problem for them to solve before we ate dessert. It looked like this:
Our oldest, Ella, eagerly looked at the picture and began adding things up. You can see the video of their reactions below.
We followed up the announcement with a fun cake that read, “And Baby Makes 4!”
I am currently 13 weeks pregnant and finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel of three months of continuous morning sickness. I’ve been telling my husband that I feel like I’ve been living on a boat!
In case you are wondering how we already know the gender, it’s because I just reached 35, putting me at “Advanced Maternal Age.” Over the past 2 years, they have developed a blood test that can help identify some genetic risks. We thought this knowledge could help our family prepare to meet a baby’s special needs, should there be any. Everything looks great and they were also able to see “X” and “Y” chromosomes.
So, look for a new Inquisitive Baby this coming October!

What a cute idea! We are due October 12th and I’m trying to muster up the energy {I’m assuming you can understand this part} so that I can make a cute announcement to post. Congrats!
CONGRATS!!! Such a cute idea to announce the pregnancy. 😀
I am so excited for you. I love the way you introduced this to your children. They are so blessed to have a creative mother. So glad that you are feeling better as well!
That was so sweet!
Congrats to you and your family!
Love it. So happy and excited for you all!
And here’s the announcement I missed! Congratulations to you and your family! (And for hopefully being past the nausea!)
