When a special occasion comes to let my mom know that I love her, a flower delivery often comes to mind. She’s at the stage in her life now where there aren’t very many things she needs or wants. How can we let her know she’s special and remembered on Mother’s Day or her birthday, without sending a novelty gift?
We live halfway across the country from mom, so flowers always feel like the ideal way to brighten a special occasion. There is something so delightful about receiving a surprise delivery of beautiful, fresh flowers. I always enjoy browsing through bouquets and picking out color combinations I know she would love…
…and then I see the price tag.
Flowers are a premium gift, with delivery costs, plus add-on fees. You select a bouquet from a national website, only to be told that the local shop can’t guarantee that exact item. You follow a “special,” only to discover that it doesn’t include high delivery fees. Stuck on the idea of flowers, you then sort by price. All the flowers actually within your budget look like budget bouquets, but cost upwards of $40…
…unless you purchase flowers from The Bouqs Company. Their whole concept truly simplifies the process of ordering a premium bouquet online for delivery. I had the opportunity to order a “bouq” online and decided to treat myself to a beautiful bouquet to celebrate the arrival of our new baby. The ordering process proved simple and enjoyable, as promised. Here’s why:
1. Easy Shopping – Bouqs offers a selection of flowers with bright, eye-catching images that you can scroll through and see together on one page. You can narrow your search by collection, color, or flower type.
2. Simple Ordering – No upsells or hidden fees here. The Original Bouq generally includes 8 to 12 flowers for $40, The Deluxe offers twice the flowers for $10 more, and The Grand is three times the stems for $70. Shipping is included. To order, you simply click on the picture of your choice, select a size, and purchase. You even get to choose the delivery date, which does not include weekends or Mondays.
3. Support Responsible Farming – Bouqs farms practice sustainable, eco-friendly farming and they only cut wht they sell. Flowers are cut the day that you order, meaning they are delivered 2 to 4 days after being cut, compared to the standard 10 to 14. Bouq flowers are fed by a volcano and grown 10,000 feet above sea level.
I gravitated toward the lilies and the unconventionally colored roses the first time I visited Bouqs. I opted for the Fortified Bouq because I wanted to see the vibrant contrast between the yellow and red in person and the colors would suit my home. While ordering, I did note that the system defaults to the Deluxe Bouq, something to keep in mind. Flowers from the advertised South American farms require 6 days for delivery, so you will have to pay a little more if you want a California Bouq delivered tomorrow. This is to be expected, however, and still affordable compared to competitors next day delivery costs.
The delivery came during a convenient time for me via Fed Ex. While a box of flowers is a little less dazzling then receiving an arrangement, the anticipation while opening them is fun. The first time I ordered, I was expecting this:
Imagine my surprise when this pink Bouq arrived:
The pink roses were lovely, but not something I would ordinarily order. I double checked my confirmation email and then contacted customer service regarding the error. They were very responsive, apologized for the error, and quickly credited my account. I was reassured that an error like this is very rare. In the end, I received two beautiful Bouqs, but it would be too bad if a surprise delivery arrived in the wrong color for a special occasion.
Both Bouqs proved to be made of gorgeous, premium roses with amazingly long stems. They need to be trimmed upon arrival (I use kitchen scissors) and then you arrange them to your liking in a vase at home. I loved displaying these Bouqs in my home, but I do wish they lasted a bit longer before browning around the edges. That being said, I would order a Bouq for my mom anytime, confident that my gift would arrive on time and delight with fresh flowers grown sustainably.
