I thought I was over covers and fitted until the Bummis Simply Lite and the Bummis Dimple Diaper came along. I hopped on the AIO train and dreamed of converting my entire stash. Then, Bummis reminded how a quality cover and absorbent cover keep baby comfy and dry throughout the night.
Bummis graciously sent me a Simply Lite in one-size cloth diaper cover in adorable penguin party, a Flannel Fitted in the silly winter waddle, and a luxurious Dimple Diaper. The Simply Lite and Dimple Diaper combination quickly became my go-to night time solution and I’m excited to bring you a Bummis Simply Lite review. Over the next 3 days, I’ll be reviewing these 3 Bummis products, sharing our experiences.
Bummis Simply Lite = Simply Wonderful
The Bummis Simply Lite has made its way to the top of my cloth diaper covers list. Here’s why:
- Stretchy – This feature makes for a superior, comfortable fit without fussy or complicated adjustments. The front, back, and side elastics stretch comfortably, giving baby a snug fit. I love how well the elastic adjusts around both trim and puffy fitteds, easily accommodating both.
- Affordable – At $16.95, this is a budget-friendly cover that leaves room to put the bulk of your money into quality fitteds to pair with it.
- Superior Fit – Need a diaper cover for a larger baby? Need one for a trim baby? Stuff those diapers to the brim at night? Prefer a prefold or slim fitted? Great. The Simply Lite is perfect for all of these needs. This cover works well over the trimmer Dimple Diaper and the fluffy Tots Bots Fitted.
- Easy to Use – I wouldn’t normally recommend snaps to cloth diapering beginners or for small babies, but the single row of tabs, combined with the stretchy elastic, make getting the right fit a cinch. The three points of elastic eliminate the need for all of those extra snaps and I’ve never been so confident in the fit of a snap diaper.
- Bright Colors & Fun Prints – I’m all about a print (hello playful painter!), but if I’m going for a solid, I want it to be bold and fun. Bummis Simply Lite colors meet my criteria and I would happily put any of them on a boy or a girl. The penguin print is cute and something I would use all year long.
I honestly can’t share many cons about this diaper, except that I’d love to see it available in aplix. It also requires an absorbent layer underneath, but this just means more options – prefolds, fitteds, or flats, oh, my! If anything, the Simply Lite just makes me eager to try more Bummis products, especially the Duo Brite system.
Stay tuned for 2 more Bummis reviews this week!

Wow, for a fitted under that cover that isn’t too bulky!

I like that I wouldn’t be limited to an insert or a prefold or a fitted that I could do all of the above. The price is just right too!
