Super Smarty Pants and The Inquisitive Mom are welcoming in Spring with a Writing Contest for Kids! If you are between the ages of 5 and 12, you are invited to submit astory starring your favorite animal or pet in our Spring Story Contest for Kids. Your story can be fiction or non-fiction and should be 350 words or less. You can have a parent help type out your story, but the writing should be your own work.
We will have two writing contests, divided by age. Each contest will have one winner. The winners will receive an awesome prize from our sponsors and have their stories published on our blogs. Thanks to our generous sponsors, we also have a third prize. Everyone who submits a story is eligible to enter for the third prize and we’ll draw a random winner at the end of the contest! The contest is open to residents of the United States and Canada.

To Enter the Writing Contest, Submit your story using the form below. Don’t forget to enter for the third prize using the Giveaway Tools form as well! You’ll need a parent or guardian to help you enter using their email address and Facebook account.

Hi! My son wanted to enter your contest about his favorite pet but for some reason the form we need to fill out to submit the story is saying it was blocked because it used an insecure encryption protocol? Do you happen to know if this is just me or if there is something I can do to fix it.

I submitted Keeley’s story right on the deadline, although it says 1pm in one spot and midnight in another. Either way…. fun times. I’d love it if we could do this again maybe a fall contest. She needs some story writing practice, that’s for sure, but she had a great time!
