There’s a reason I don’t normally bring 4 kids to the store at one time. Logistics, obviously. But also will power. When the kids are being good, I’m a total sucker for letting them pick out food on a whim. I try to encourage healthy(er) options, but sometimes sweets sneak in the cart. Case in point this week: S’mores fixings.
We don’t have a grill set up, a fire pit, or any plans to go camping this week. But the store had square (square!) graham crackers AND marshmallows made just for S’mores. Plus, Hershey’s chocolate bars were magically nearby. And that gooey, marshmallow goodness squished between melted chocolate and graham crackers called to me. We would have Indoor S’mores using the oven.
I’ve tried roasting marshmallows using the oven broiler in the past, but they can go from solid to charred in just one step away from the oven. I decided to work with the directions for toaster oven S’mores, initially turning on the oven for 350 degrees for the first batch. This took too long. I turned the oven to 400 degrees for my second attempt and left the marshmallows to crackle and brown for about 5 minutes. They turned into delicious, toasted marshmallow goodness.
We then topped them with Hershey’s chocolate bar and another graham cracker, squishing them together for a delightful indoor treat in under 10 minutes!
Ooey, gooey, chocolaty goodness sandwiched inside two graham crackers. A classic campfire treat, cooked at home in your oven in under 10 minutes!

I didn’t know that square s’more marshmallows existed but how perfect! I’ve been making my s’mores in the oven for awhile and it’s the easiest and best dessert.
I will definitely make these.

These sound so easy and delicious!
Ive made s’mores using the microwave before but not the oven. You dont get the crack-ly brown goodness on the marshmallows that way. I will definitely be trying oven toasting!
