I can’t tell you how often I see babywearing parents seeking a convenient storage solution online. What’s the point of hands-free if you’re lugging around a bulky diaper bag? The Lillebaby already includes a clever, discreet pocket in carriers for credit cards, keys, and cash. The Lillebaby SeatMe takes comfort and convenience to a whole new level, offering a cozy seat for babies that doubles as storage! Check out my Lillebaby SeatMe Review to learn more.
Lillebaby sent ambassadors this new carrier, so Sebastian and I created a Lillebaby SeatMe review. We took pictures in different carrying positions, so you can see how the SeatMe works with toddlers and curvy mamas. This post includes affiliate links, so you can also check out this carrier directly on Lillebaby’s website.
What is a Lillebaby SeatMe Carrier?
This innovative carrier allows parents to carry babies and toddlers in six positions using a firm, padded seat. The SeatMe secures similarly to other Lillebaby carriers, with the addition of a velcro security strap under the buckle. Baby can be worn on your back, inward facing front, forward facing front, and in a hip or front carry (inward or outward facing) with the seat alone. The SeatMe can be safely used without the seat, as long as the seat buckles are safely engaged.
What are the SeatMe Weight Recommendations?
Multiple carrying positions: front-inward and front-outward (with or without panel), and hip and back (with panel).
Weight range: 12-45 pounds (5.5 to 20 kgs)
This multifunctional carrier can also convert to a soft structure carrier. The ridged shelf seat insert can be removed and easily converts the carrier to a regular soft structure carrier.
How Does the SeatMe work Without the Straps?
My toddler is very active and independent. He and I regularly go on walks to the library, park, and store. Sometimes his little legs need a break or I need to carry him through a crowded store, past fragile items, or because he wants some cuddle time. This hip option may not be entirely hands-free, but it will allow you to hip carry ergonomically. You can forward or inward face baby in the front without the straps, but I honestly prefer the hip carry. Instead of twisting the spine like you normally would when holding baby on hip, the parent’s back stays straight and the belt distributes baby’s weight around your waist.
Is this Carrier for Curvy and Plus-Sized Parents?
I’m a curvy mama, usually around a 1x. The velcro on this carrier definitely creates limitations. I needed to secure the velcro strap towards the end of the closures and wear baby pretty high to get a good fit.
How Much Can the SeatMe Store?
You could easily fit a diaper (even a cloth one), wipes, a toy, maybe a book, and a snack in this handy compartment.
Where Do I Buy One?

Hello, I just got my SeatMe yesterday. It is my first SSC so I do not know how other carriers feel. When I tried the hipseat with baby, I felt that the waist band was digging painfully into my tummy. And my baby is only about 15 lbs (4 month old). Did you feel any discomfort and if you did, how did you adjust the waist belt?
The Inquisitive Mom says
Hi Tia. For this carrier, I definitely wear the belt higher. This is partially because I’m curvier and it doesn’t close comfortably where my other Lillebabys close. I’ve spoken with other ambassadors, though, and they all say that they wear the SeatMe higher. It is also possible that you have made it a bit too snug if it is cutting into your tummy. If that doesn’t work, please come back and we’ll troubleshoot some more. 🙂

I’ve just bought this carrier for my two and a half month old baby weighing 13 lbs. It’s also the first carrier that I own. I tried looking for videos but I couldn’t find any. Any chance you could post a video or something please?
