Every child likes to be the star of their own story. Our three older children have their own special personalized books and they love reading a story that features their name. With our The Magic of My Name Book, our youngest – Sebastian – finally has his own starring role in a book. Now every child in our home can enjoy their very own personalized book!
The Magic of My Name books tell the story of your child’s name using their initials as an acronym. Each letter tells a different part of their name story. For example, in Sebastian’s personalized book, he is:

Each letter and trait are tied into a new adventure. Throughout his story, Sebastian interacts with knights, ants, talking mushrooms, labyrinths, and fortune tellers. The illustrations are eye-catching, with bold colors and fun characters.
Anyone can easily create a personalized book for a loved one. Each book is customizable for your child. You can gender, hair color, and even a from a limited number of skin tones. Plus, you can add a unique message just for your child. I adapted the provided message a little bit to say:
Dear Sebastian,
Come join us on this magical adventure! We created this special book so that you can know the magic that is hiding behind your wonderful name.
Love, Mom and Dad
I enjoyed customizing the book – I typed in the name, picked the avatar, and wrote my message and my book was generated in a snap! The Magic of My Name provides an instant preview of your customized book, so you can read the story in advance. I tried several names and was thrilled to discover that the “girl” version is not pink-washed. This is a huge win in my book. Also, a child with a shorter name will still have multiple adventures, they just won’t highlight their name as often.
My only critique of the book is that it’s very word-heavy and I would love to see a junior version for smaller children with low attention spans. This would be especially lovely in a board book.
