Ella, in true 3 year-old form, has taken a 360 degree attitude turn for the past week. She’s been so polite, cuddly, sweet, and relatively reasonable! She isn’t interested in tv and just wants to play. It’s so crazy how Jekyll and Hyde a toddler can be at this age while they try to balance independence and dependence.
This morning, she woke up with her crazy bed hair and said, “It’s a beautiful day, Mommy!”
I said, “I love you!” and she said, “I love you too! Say, I love you too, Mommy!”
Her brother wasn’t awake yet (they both slept in!) and she and I enjoyed breakfast together. She heard him wake up before I did and started heading downstairs. I said, “Where are you going?” Her response: “To Ezra’s door.”
Ezra giggled and flashed the biggest grin when he saw his sister peering over his crib. Ella declared, “We’re going to play together!” I’m so happy they’ve finally reached this stage!
Ezra was cheerful (probably because he actually got enough rest for once) and even let me change his diaper without much fuss (this is usually like wrestling a tiger).
I couldn’t have asked for a better morning! I am so blessed to wake up to these adorable faces with their bright eyes, infectious grins, and lively personalities!

I did finally confess to Jeremy that being the first to see baby after he’s woken up in the morning is one of the absolute best things in the world. The way their little faces light up when they see someone finally coming to visit them after a long, peaceful night’s sleep…(okay, sometimes that sleeping part isn’t quite true!). Funny thing though–Jeremy hasn’t taken me up on my offer yet to let him get up early with the baby on his days off work! 🙂
