10 Things That Make Me Happy

Erin at The Mother Load tagged me in this little game. I connected with Erin in the virtual world and love reading her blog daily! She cracks me up, makes me think, and is helping educate me about Hanukkah! Her girls even share a birthday with Ezra. You should definitely check out her blog!

Now, here are the rules that go with this one: list 10 things that make you happy, try to do at least one of them today, and link back to the person that tagged you. Then tag 10 other bloggers that brighten your day.

10 Things That Make Me Happy (in no particular order):
1.) Waking up and reaching my toe out to the warm side of the bed where my husband is. Sometimes it feels so nice just knowing he’s there.

2.) A bag of sour patch kids all to myself. Mmm…sour goodness.

3.) Watching tv shows on Netflix Watch Instantly or on DVD. No commercials. Watch whenever I want. Feels a bit like telling “the man” to stick it.

4.) Long phone calls chatting about whatever with friends, my mom, and my sisters. I love it when you talk and don’t look at the clock. Conversations are often too rushed, so sometimes it feels so good to just talk and listen.

5.) My son’s happy laughs as he crawls, explores, and tries to walk. His joy moving around the world is completely contagious.

6.) My sweet, impetuous daughter, her crazy hair, big hugs, and creative sentences.

7.) Rediscovering my passion for writing and committing to it every day. On my blog. For the newspaper. For me. Oh, and hearing people say I have “a gift.” I feel so humbled that others enjoy what I write.

8.) Having my mother tell me she’s proud of the woman I’ve become. The ultimate compliment.

9.) Eating out. I love not having to worry about dinner. No matter what it is, it feels like a treat and a splurge. It’s even better when we get dessert.

10.) Defying description. I like connecting with so many groups of people, but not feeling like “joining with them” has to be all or nothing. You can cloth diaper, but not co-sleep, recycle, but not buy all organic, be a Latter-day Saint and vote Democrat, and on and on.
