Just feel like this?
Boy do I ever.
I looked at my calendar and it is – surprise! – empty. No interviews today. No play dates. No grocery shopping necessary (well, we do need a gallon of milk). No scheduled commitments.
This is good, because Ezra had a horrible night last night. Of course, as a result, so did I. Teething seems to be causing diarrhea, which is waking him up, causing a rash, and so on. Hence, the disposable diaper because the natural diaper cream I have on hand isn’t cutting it. We did a bath with baking soda this morning and I’ve got him lathered in cream. Plan is to put him in fitted sans cover later so things are more breathable. Darn diarrhea and baby fat creases and crevices!
The biggest problem is that, while the calendar looks empty, it’s actually deceptive. I might feel like this…
…but I need to be disciplined and write two articles today. And the boysenberry cheesecake bars leftover from last night and my bed just keep calling my name. *sigh*

Yep. That’s exactly how I feel right this moment. I wish my desk chair was a recliner.
Those cheesecake bars sound delicious!

I feel like that, too.
Also–you may want to check w/ your pediatrician. I know ours had a super prescription diaper rash cream (their own special formula) that worked wonders. But then you’d need to use disposables w/ that. But if his rash is really bad…..???? I hope he feels better soon!

Chloe just had an AWFUL rash!! The pediatrician had us bathe her twice a day in ‘epsom salt’. After she was completely dried off, cover the rash in ‘aquaphor’, then ‘butt paste’ on top of that. It really seemed to work. Even by the next day it was quite a bit better and healed after just a few days. Hope he gets feeling better soon, poor little guy!

Poor little Ezra, I feel for him. He looks as though the world is not where he wants to be today.
give him a hug and kiss for me.

I was totally shocked to see the DD and thought I was on the wrong site! But I get it. Yikes. I haven’t bought any for almost a year, and that package we gave most of them away. We do have some sposie inserts for our GroBaby though and if we ended up with a rash, that’s what we’d use, too. Crazy stuff. I gave away most of our rash cream, powder, etc. a few months ago to a crisis center and with the move, I didn’t even keep any with us. I’d be in deep do do if we had to battle a rash right now! Good luck and take care!

I was referred to your blog by a friend and enjoy it so much. Thought I’d throw in a rash suggestion, too. My son had diarrhea for over a month after he was on antibiotics, and obviously had terrible diaper rash. Our pediatrician recommended a cheap fix that cleared it right up. Put liquid antacid (Maalox, Mylanta, etc) on a cotton ball and dab it on the rash during every change. Then cornstarch powder in the dipe. The antacid counteracts the acid in the poo that is irritating the diaper rash. This is now my go-to cure!
