Daffy at Batcrap Crazy is new to me, but beloved by many bloggy friends. The Daily Dose of Reality Monday Minute is dedicated to her this week.
1. Do you *snort*? I think I’ve been know to a time or two, but I am better known for the throw-your-head-back laugh-loudest-at-the-theater kind of laugh. One time, a man turned around during intermission at the 5th Avenue Theater in Seattle and I thought, “Uh, oh.” He delighted and embarrassed me by saying something to the effect of “I love your laugh. I’ve really been enjoying listening to you.” (Yes, he was sincere). I’ll never forget that.
Case in point:
2. Our friend has a nickname and it’s “Daffy.” What’s your nickname? Well, one of my sisters likes to call me “twinkletoes,” but I maintain that I regularly trip over my own feet am actually very graceful. To my dismay as a kid, my middle name is Lou. I’ve been called “Mindy Lou from the Zoo” before. I don’t recommend trying it. By the way, a guy at Jiffy Lube made fun of my name while I was paying Saturday. He openly snorted and mocked my name. I gamely laughed with him, but secretly wanted to snatch my credit card back and smack his smug mug.
3. Do you know sign language? Well, my kids’ favorite video right now is a “Signing Times,” so I’ve picked up a few key words for communicating with the large deaf community here (there is a school for the deaf in my town), such as “ice cream,” “banana,” and “cold.”
4. What’s a sample Convo from Your Hood?
Ella: Mom, what did you dream about last night?
Me: Oh, I dreamed that I went on vacation to the beach and put my feet in the sand. What did you dream about?
Ella: My hair was pink and I ate it!
Me: Your hair was cotton candy? Yum!
Ella (quietly): Mom, you’re dumb.
Dad: What did you just say?
Ella (more loudly and confidently): Monsters are dumb.
Dad: Is that what you really said?
Ella (repeatedly): Yeah. Monsters are dumb. Monsters are dumb.
Sure.
Ezra: “Uh, Oh!” – “Oh, no!” – “No, no.” His life is very dramatic.
5. Do you sleep with electronic devices – ie IPhone, Laptop, Blackberry, etc.? Are you kidding me?! No way. Sleep is precious. We can talk, text, chat tomorrow!

All the fun people laugh like you do. My kids loved Signing Times when they were little. They must have watched it 100 times – at least. It’s much better than Barney.
