I’m Tickled Pink Today

I’m joining Holly over at 504 Main for the first time today for Tickled Pink Fridays. This is an excellent way to recognize and celebrate all of the wonderful things during your week! This week, Holly has invited us to share some bloggers who have tickled us pink. I want to celebrate some of the great blogs I’ve discovered recently by following links on memes and recommendations from other bloggers.

I’m tickled pink that Adrienne over at Stories from the Shoebox – a new blogger I discovered this week – gave me the Versatile Blogger Award! Adrienne wrote a very personal post for Pour Your Hear Out and I’m looking forward to reading future posts.

With this award, I’m supposed to share 7 random things about myself and pass it on. 7 Things:
1. I love swinging and my daughter could swing for hours too. I love it when we go to a park with swings big enough for mom. Yesterday, we swung side by side and I showed her how to pump her legs -so much fun!
2. I think going to the movie is way more fun when you sneak you own candy in.
3. I talk to my mom every week day morning on the phone.
4. I had these fishnet nylons I bought a few years back and I loved the contrast of combining them with a somewhat conservative dress. They killed my feet after a few hours, but I’m sad they are ripped now.
5. I still have a crush on my husband. Sometimes I glance his way and think “Wow.”
6. When my kids are older, I want to go to graduate school and maybe one day go for a phd.
7. No matter how many times I watch 2 Weeks Notice, the scene where she has to go in the car makes me laugh out loud.

I want to pass this award onto the two great Moms at Two Normal Moms, who are funny, insightful, and real. So glad to have discovered their terrific blog through Erin at The Mother Load. She won Mommy Blogger of the Year because she is an amazing person and wonderful blogger. If you are looking for sincerity, honesty, and hilarity, Erin is your gal. I highly recommend starting with the series her family wrote about their father coming out. Here’s a link to Erin’s heartfelt post.

Erin also introduced me to another of my favorite bloggers, Salt of Salt Says. This is where I go for my daily laugh. What I love the most about Salt, though, is that she is simply sharing her everyday and somehow it is hilarious! She’s also a very generous blogger friend.

And, lastly, I was tickled pink to go on a firefly hunt with my daughter the other night. When I talked about finding time to be spontaneous with my kids yesterday, it was to enjoy experienes like these. Some of my favorite mom moments come during unscheduled fun where we are together as a family and just enjoy each other. We punched some holes in a jar and discovered that these lazy, fearless bugs are incredibly easy to catch. Get too many in a jar, though, and you can lose them pretty quickly! I was proud of Ella for deciding to let them go at the end of the evening.
