MIA, Spring is Here Video, and A Duck Fest Giveaway

We’ve had so much fun with Grandma visiting at our house. I was so excited for the long weekend where my husband actually got a holiday off! We enjoyed ourselves on Friday and Saturday and then Sunday night hit. I don’t know if it was food poisoning or a 24 hour bug, but it came with a vengeance for my mom and me suddenly Saturday night. I woke up about 3:30 am and suddenly felt violently ill. Things were so bad, I eventually just grabbed a pillow and curled up in the fetal position on the bathroom floor. Sorry if that’s more info than you wanted. We made it through Sunday, ready for a fun Monday. Then it hit my husband…poor guy. He’s convinced that our family is cursed because someone is always sick when we have a vacation. So, that’s why I’ve been a bit MIA the last few days.
I’m trying to catch up a bit and I hope you’ll hang in there with me because I’m still in vacation mode a bit with my mom visiting, but I’ll be back to my regular blogging schedule soon! Awhile back, I mentioned this adorable swimsuit and  hat I bought on clearance from happygreenbee and some people have asked to see photos. Well, Spring has hit our house with hot, humid days, alternating with thunderstorms. We were able to pull out our sprinkler to beat the heat a few times recently and miss Ella modeled her new swim wear. I learned about Duck Fest from Ian over at The Daily Dose of Reality.  Here is what he has to say about the event: 
DUCK FEST is supporting our fellow blog bud, Daffy. She is setting up the JD Scholarship Fund in honor of her sister, Wendy. JD is Daffy’s 5 year old nephew who just lost his mother suddenly, last week. Every parent strives to give the best to their child and as a single father, sending JD to college will be difficult.
Right now, JD is too young to understand what is happening around him. It will be a long hard road for him. I can relate to the feeling of growing up without a mother. It isn’t easy. I’d like to think that our efforts during DUCK FEST will one day give JD hope. That the generousity of strangers helped get him to college, and a community banded together for him and his family during a very difficult time.
DUCK FEST will begin on June 3rd. This day will be very difficult for Daffy and her family as it would have been Wendy’s 36th birthday.

    ella and ezra are too cute—and funny how i’m watching and seeing that we have all the same toys—the little tykes slide, the baseball bat and ball stand, and the cozy coupe, etc….lol!
