I don’t think gift-giving gets much better than on a two year-old’s birthday. They are old enough to appreciate the experience of opening a gift a tiny bit and exhibit renewed enthusiasm for each gift. I adore giving family gifts separately from a party without ten little friends wanting to get in on the present-opening. This way, you can settle in and relax, allowing your little one to savor every new item. And, boy, did Ezra surpass expectations.
His very own case filled to the limit with his very own cars? He’d died and gone to heaven. We did get video of this. Ah, I love this sweet boy!
We did have a party the following Saturday with our amazing friends. Even though our house isn’t quite big enough to host so many people, I love that they humor us and come anyway. We had pizza and I made the car cakes Ella has literally been planning for a month. Each night after bedtime, she’d come out with “something special” to tell me, usually a new idea for Ezra’s birthday cake. Tim says these are my best fancy cake effort yet:
That cake looks amazing! I have yet to bake a cake, LOL!
I have yet to bake cake for Charlies Bday but I have been inspired, the car cakes look amazing!
