A Disney Store box arrived on our doorstep the other day from Grandma Cathy. She is always thinking ahead and inside we found rain boots and matching umbrellas in the perfect sizes for fall. It was probably 5:30 before we opened them, clear, and cold outside. This did not deter Ella and Ezra, however.
They instantly figured out how to slip those rubber boots on, delightedly declaring “Princesses!” and “Cars!” They snubbed their noses at bad luck and quickly snapped those umbrellas open in the hallway. Suddenly, being indoors simply wasn’t enough. Before I knew what was happening, they’d zoomed out the door like real-life roadrunners, reveling in the non-existent rain.
And, looking at them, admiring their enthusiasm, I thought “I should do this more. Appreciate the moment. Enjoy what I have right now. Quit waiting for the perfect conditions or for things to be just so.”

How fun! I think it’s great that Grandma sends fun things. And yes, enjoying the moment is so rewarding!

Awesome. I do the same thing with my red Cars boots. Great pics.
Grandma knows her grandkids! Love the inside jammie/boots pictures!
They are so cute with their umbrellas and boots! I have a pair of pink rainboots too. Ella and I have so much in common. 🙂
Aren’t they adorable?! LOVE the Cars boots!
We live in AZ where we hardly get any rain. My kids are dying for an umbrella. Guess we dont need rain for them to enjoy it!
