Last year, I was the lucky recipient of a $25 Gift Card from The Nappy Shoppe during a Knickernappies Twitter party. I decided to use my GC to review a Knickernappies diaper and The Nappy Shoppe generously sponsored a giveaway. A visit to Sharni’s shop soon had me looking beyond Knickernappies, to a wide selection of cloth diapers, to educational toys, to nursing supplies, and much more. In fact, while grabbing links, I just discovered this name train and now I want one for both of my boys!
Sharni is also a talented seamstress and a variety of items are handmade at her shop in Texas including wet bags, nursing covers, cloth wipes, and mama cloth. Whenever I’ve visited the shop, wet bags are always available in a number of fabrics to suit a variety of tastes, from paisleys, to stripes, to florals, and more traditional baby fabrics. They come in size medium, which can hold about 3 diapers and large, and holds about 6 to 8 diapers.
When The Nappy Shoppe offered to provide one of their medium wet bags for a review and giveaway, I was very excited. I selected the a bag in the Olive and Teal Teardrops on Chocolate because I liked the rich brown color with its vibrant accents. When the bag came in the mail, I was immediately impressed by all of the thoughtful details, including a sturdy colored zipper,
a fabric tab inside for adding scented oils,
and a double snap tab for hanging.
While testing the Nappy Shoppe medium wet bag, I compared it to the medium Planet Wise wet bag that is a similar zipper style and the Apple Cheeks size 1 storage sac. As far as price comparison, the storage sac is the most cost-effective, but my least favorite of the three. It is a simple draw-string bag and I use it solely as a hanging bag on the bathroom door to transport soiled diaper that have been rinsed. The draw string simply can’t hold in the smell to my liking for use anywhere else.
The Planet Wise is similar in price to the Nappy Shoppe bag and claims to hold a much larger number of diapers. I have found that it is not significantly larger, however. I prefer the sturdier zipper closure of the Nappy Shoppe wet bag, as well as the other features mentioned, over The Planet Wise bag. A couple of people have approached me about navigating the world of cloth diapers lately and I will definitely be recommending the Nappy Shoppe bag as a go-to wet bag.

What a fun shop! I spent waaayyy too long browsing around at the other inventory before I realized I hadn’t looked at fabric choices yet. Lots of fun fabric selections, but I think I would go with orange owls on green.
