*Whew* We enjoyed a full day today. Our family headed out to Springfield this morning to participate in The Great Cloth Diaper Change Event. We joined other area families in participating in an effort to set a new world record for the most cloth diapers changed simultaneously. 400 locations were signed up to participate from 24countries as a way to raise awareness about the benefits of cloth diapers. I thought it would be fun to say that Ezra and I participated in setting a new world record and it also provided a cool way to be celebrate Earth Day (weekend).
Thanks to the efforts by Judy from the local Faithful Baby store, the event included vendors, some food, games for kids, and great prizes. Two lucky moms walked away with Moby wraps and we were thrilled to win an 80 load container of Charlie’s Soap! The local news came to record the fun and I plan to share my experiences with an article in my town’s local newspaper. I think Ezra thought the whole thing was a bit crazy, but I was so grateful that he was patient while we prepared for the “big moment” and that he actually needed a diaper change, so he was willing to lie still for it!
Here are some pics from the event:
We also celebrated what I call the “Welcome Spring!” celebration that comes at Easter time. Our kids received some simple Easter baskets with a few fun items like kites and flip flops, then we had an Easter egg hunt. We’ve tried the community hunts in the past and they are filled with craziness and selfishness. Last year we decided to simply do a hunt in our own yard and the kids loved it! Ella couldn’t wait for ours this year and I wished I’d actually made it a bit more difficult for them because they wanted to keep searching when it was through.
Our family has talked about the true meaning of Easter throughout the week and we have a wonderful book about the Resurrection created for kids that we put in Ella’s basket last year. Tomorrow, Ella will put on her new Easter dress, we’ll attend our Sunday services, and have a family dinner at home. My hope is to make room for the springtime fun – because who doesn’t need a good run around looking for brightly colored eggs filled with goodies after that long winter we endured? – but to ensure that our children know we truly celebrate Easter because we know that our Savior lives!
So glad you guys had a good time, and love seeing the pics of the kids running around. We’ve had so much rain, but we’ll be hunting eggs for a while, I’m sure. She won’t be able to get enough. Great belly pics. I only have one from about week 14 I need to get on that.
Looks like a fun filled day – and you look fantastic!

I’m jealous of these great prizes that were at other GCDC events! I saw someone won a Beco at one.
