Three children and limited space have made traditonal scrapbooking fairly unrealistic for me. I have no permanent place to set up, so the supplies have to be brought out and cleaned up each time I scrapbook (and the kids always want to get into them). Plus, every page is time consuming and the paper products only have a one-time use, so I’ve only completed a handful of albums. My photos are all saved to my computer and I’ve made several photo books using online retailers, but always wanted to try my hand at digital scrapbooking.
When My Memories invited me to try the My Memories Digital Suite, I was excited to explore the software. I liked the price tag at $39.97 compared to many more expensive options, plus the opportunity to offer my readers $10 off their purchase with my affiliate code STMMMS9768. Scrapbooking kits are an additional cost beginning at .99, but the software comes with built in options and free kits are available on multiple sites, including mymemories.com.
The invitation to try the software also intrigued me because it can be used for more than scrapbook pages, including facebook headers. I created the facebook header above using all free kits and was pretty pleased with the results. I would like to research more options for scrapbook kits, however, because my taste does run to more retro, funky, and modern and most of the available kits tend to have a more country, shabby chic, or americana feel to them.
I also tried my hand at Santa cards for my kids (still working on Kai’s). To be honest, the software has a bit of a learning curve and I wish it came with a manual I could easily reference. My Memories offers a multitude of tutorials on their blog and facebook page, but I simply haven’t had the time or patience to watch a series of videos, although I did skim a few. In the long run, I do believe that watching some basics videos will be helpful and the software is not impossible to maneuver independently. It just takes some patience and creativity.
In addition to the header, I decided to use the software to create Santa cards this year. I do wish there was an option to put these into a card format (perhaps there is, but I couldn’t Google it), but I really enjoyed making these in just a short amount of time. I plan to print them and paste them on cardstock, maybe with a bit of ribbon as an extra touch. After you view the letters, be sure to scroll down to the Full My Memories Suite Giveaway below.

Hey Mindy- love your Santa letters! Such a cute idea. So, I have the Mymemories Suite & just wanted to share my thoughts on it. I actually really like it. It’s pretty user-friendly, very basic but easy to work with. I don’t love the elements and papers that it comes with, but as you said, there are many scrapbooking websites to take from. I haven’t tried to make a video or calendar yet, but those features exist, too. Anyway, overall, I’m very pleased with it- I’ve used it for baby books, invitations, thanksgiving tags, cute labels for organization, everything. It’s been very handy to have.

Hey Mindy –
I am not much of a scrapbooker, but I could definitely use the motivation to finally make some legit baby books for my kids. It would be nice to do it digitally, since all of my pictures are already on the computer and I never order prints.
