Over the past few months, I’be been encouraging my kids to think outside of the toy box when it comes to wish lists for birthdays and Christmas. We’ve talked about things they want to learn or know more about – sewing, skating, art, animals, languages – and things they want to experience – a car race, ice skating, rides at the fair. Then, when it’s time to write that list, they can use these as a guide.
One fun way to encourage them to explore languages on their Christmas wish list involves media and entertainment they already love. With Little Pim Lamguage Learning, little ones six and under can enjoy music, movies, and books. They can even get a plush Little Pim panda, featured in Little Pim’s media and artwork, to cuddle while they learn 360 words and phrases.
The kids tried a Spanish language Little Pim DVD in the past and enjoyed watching Little Pim introduce them to everyday household words. We recently tried the Spanish Bop CD, filled with 14 kid’s songs. My two year-old especially liked dancing to the songs and his favorite song by far was Clap, Clap, Clap, featured in both Spanish and English.
Spanish Bop is definitely a fun companion the video series and I think it would be most effective as part of a Little Pim Complete Spanish Set with videos, books, and flash cards also introducing meanings to words. That being said, Spanish Bop includes a 16 page lyric book with English translations. This helps make the CD an interactive experience, where parents can help act out words to increase their child’s understanding.
The song list includes ditties about animals, foods, and parts of the body that make for some fun miming. Spanish Bop also involves counting patterns many toddlers and preschoolers are used to hearing, as well repetition. Overall, Spanish Bop is a fun collection of song to add to your kid’s song mix!
Little Pim is also has a Kickstarter Project to create a Around the World with Little Pim holiday E-Book! The campaign ends on October 31st and there are some fun incentives for contributing to the project at any level.
How would you like to get a jump start on your holiday gift giving? Little Pim has generously offered to give one The Inquisitive Mom a 3 Pak in the language of their choice! To enter, use the Giveaway Tools form below!

I would love to teach my baby a second language! I think we would start with Spanish since we will most likely end up living in California after we get out of the Navy. 🙂
I would go with Spanish as my little one has shown interest in learning Spanish.
