I think back to four years ago when we potty trained our oldest and I wonder, How did we do it
without a wet bag? Potty training our daughter required multiple attempts and more soiled pairs of undies than I want to count. Once she decided to do it, things went relatively easily, but the process required much dunking, rinsing, and sealing up wet underwear in plastic bags until washing day.
Rewind two years and it’s a different ball game. We cloth diapered our second child beginning at 8 months, so we had wet bags on hand for potty training. These bags proved to be a “must have” for potty training in my book. No more carrying around plastic grocery bags that temporarily kept in the smell, but overwhelmed the senses when opened or doing wash every single day.
We are currently in the midst of potty training our third and received a Buttons Diapers Large Wet Bag to help with the process. The Buttons Large Wet Bag features a unique 14 x 14 square shape and two zippered compartments, making it a wet/dry bag. I found the size of this wet bag convenient for carrying dry underwear and pants in the front compartment, then placing soiled items in the back compartment. If you are using it for cloth diapering, you can fit up to 6 diapers inside.
The inner pocket of the wet bag is made of waterproof PUL to seal in wetness and smell. This bag is then encased in a stylish cotton outer fabric. The front of the outer pocket is made of cotton only and, while PUL is not necessary here, I think it makes the bag more versatile. If you are using the bag for multiple purposes, such as dirty sports gear, swimsuits/towels, and dirty clothes/dirty diapers, it’s useful to have two PUL compartments available.
Buttons Diapers Wet Bags currently come in two colors, Apple and Pebble. I appreciate the simplicity of the whimsical polka dots and details like coordinating fabric pulls on the zippes. I like how these wet bags could be comfortably carried by a wide range of people – male, female, parents, teens, kids, etc. I tried the Apple color and liked the green in contrast with the white zippers and white handle. The handle has a snap closure, making it easy to clip around a wrist, door handle, locker hook, back pack, or diaper bag handle.
I found that the bag held in smell and dampness well and I would simply unzip and toss in with my wash. In my experience, the outer cotton bag did shrink by about 1 inch overall and demonstrated a tendency to wrinkle. While this didn’t affect the function, it did give it a bit of a disheveled appearance.
Overall, I like the size, function, and price of the Buttons Diapers Large Wet Bag. These wet bags come in three convenient sizes, handy for cloth diapering and potty training needs, and are available at the Buttons Diapers Shop. Thank you to Buttons Diapers for the opportunity to review this new bag!
Have you used a wet for potty training?

Thanks for the review. I’ve accumulated a few wetbags, but I’m thinking of picking up a wet-dry bag. It seems especially handy for day care.
Not potty training yet but will be using wet bags when we start spraying off solids for our cloth diapers. Love the bright colors they come in, would be difficult to lose in car with such bright colors.
