Easy, Fun, Reusable Yummi Pouches

When Kai was a toddler, I was ready to invest in disposable pouch stock. He wouldn’t eat solid vegetables, but put them in a pouch – any vegetable – and he would eat them. Plus, pouches proved so darn convenient. They could be stashed in a diaper bag, kept in the car, and eaten at the park.  No spoon required. They were a lifesaver for me, but not so great for the environment.

My three older kids love applesauce in pouches, so I decided to give homemade applesauce a try. I need to perfect my food pouch recipes, but found that adding applesauce and yogurt to save money over purchasing individually packaged, disposable options, was relatively easy. The biggest hurdle, of course, was reminding the kids to 1. Not toss these containers and 2. Remember to rinse and place in the dishwasher or sink.
