When Kai was a toddler, I was ready to invest in disposable pouch stock. He wouldn’t eat solid vegetables, but put them in a pouch – any vegetable – and he would eat them. Plus, pouches proved so darn convenient. They could be stashed in a diaper bag, kept in the car, and eaten at the park. No spoon required. They were a lifesaver for me, but not so great for the environment.
This is where the reusable Yummi Pouch comes in. You get the advantages of the reusable pouch – convenient, fun, easy to travel with – without tossing each use. Even if you’re not a fan of having your child eat directly from pouches, it’s a convenient storage and transport system for smoothies, purees, applesauce, and yogurt. Plus, unlike disposable pouches, you have absolute control over the ingredients going into to your child’s pouch, without added colors and preservatives.
Yummi pouches are relatively easy to fill and come in different sizes, 2.5, 6, or 10 ounces, to meet your needs. To seal, simply close up the reinforced, leak-proof zipper seal located on the bottom or top of the pouch. When you are finished with the pouch, just rinse, expand, and place upside down in the dishwasher. Yummi pouches are also freezer safe, dishwasher safe, BPA-free, and Phthalate-free. Best of all, when you are finished using the pouches altogether, they can be recycled.
My three older kids love applesauce in pouches, so I decided to give homemade applesauce a try. I need to perfect my food pouch recipes, but found that adding applesauce and yogurt to save money over purchasing individually packaged, disposable options, was relatively easy. The biggest hurdle, of course, was reminding the kids to 1. Not toss these containers and 2. Remember to rinse and place in the dishwasher or sink. It can help to keep a Everything Storage Bag on hand in your car and diaper bag to collect used pouches and carry inside.
We also added healthy snacks, like fruit, vegetables, pretzels, and nuts to our cloth snack bags. These lightweight bags come in sets of three in the spunky or sweet collection. The bags are BPA-free, phthalate-free, PVC-free, and lead-free nylon, and moisture resistant. They are also dishwasher and washing machine safe, so you can make them part of your regular routine.
We are excited to welcome Yummi Pouch as a Sponsor of our 4th Time Around Event! They have also offered the discount code PARTY4YP for 10% off for our readers at http://store.yummipouch.com.

I like these a lot! I love that they can be taken anywhere without the risk of messes or the need of utensils for longer trips. I also like that you can freeze them! I want to add homemade applesauce to my never ending list of things to try! Even if you use them as regular snack bags since the bottom opens up, it would help out with less waste from using plastic snack bags!
I like this idea you can make sure that what goes in these is all natural.
