Every year, I find myself standing in the Easter aisle staring down cheap, plastic novelty items, over-priced stuffed animals, and gimmicky candy. I want Easter to bring a small bit of fun to welcome in Spring. Ideally, it something the kids will enjoy for more than a few hours, but won’t break the bank. Thanks to Etsy, I think
I finally found what I’m looking for: Adornwithaandm Chalkimamy Travel Chalkboards. If you’re faced with the same dilemma, consider having the bunny bring Chalkimamy Mats for Easter.
These 9″ x 11 mats have your favorite fabric on one side and a flexible chalkboard surface on the other. They hold one piece of chalk and are secured by a piece of elastic – no tying required. While the mat rolls up, it actually stays flat when open. Kids can use these at home, in the car, at church, and more! My younger boys, ages 3 and 6, enjoyed using our mat. They will definitely need additional chalk, though, so I’d recommend getting a matching 10 chalk roll too.

The only downside I see for the mat with traveling is that it requires a wet cloth to clean off, unless you have a cloth meant to clean off chalk. The boys also scratched the surface of the mat, presumably by pressing down too hard while coloring with chalk. They still enjoy the mat and I think an ideal basket would include a mat, chalk roll, and their own sockimamy – plus a little candy, of course! You can even get a discount if you buy 5 or more Chalkimamy boards.
