You’ve decided to transition your family to more natural products, but you’re not sure where to start? BALM! Baby and Taylor’s Pure and Natural wants this for your family, too, and that is why they offer an extensive line of natural care products. These include items from toothpaste, to deodorant, to lotion, to teething rub – all stored in plastic-free containers.
BALM! Baby generously sent my family seven products to try for mom, baby, and the family in general. This allowed us to do more than tiptoe into more natural solutions. We started using all of these products at once and dove into the world of natural self care solutions! I’m very excited to bring you a BALM! Baby Natural Care Products Review (and Giveaway).
Our experiences with these products were positive overall and I really appreciate that they are affordable and accessible. Here are some of my favorite overall features of BALM! Baby and Taylor’s Pure and Natural Products:
- All products come in Recycled Glass or Recycled Aluminum. This is better for the planet and for your body.
- All products are locally made in small batches.
- Product descriptions are fun and entertaining.
- This small, family company is run by positive owners who truly care about the planet and their customers.
- Eco-friendly choices that help my family care for the planet.
I definitely have my favorite products, including the Muffin Mist!, Juice those Wipes, and Woo Woo Wash, but I want to share a review of each product individually as well.
Post-Partum and Feminine Care
Taylor’s Muffin Mist Let me just say up front – you need this product. Muffin Mist is multi-purpose, but most definitely a post-partum must-have. I wish I knew about Muffin Mist when I was soaking pads in witch hazel after having 3 babies. If giving birth also gifted you – ahem – hemorrhoids, this is a miracle soother. Just a spray or two, and any soreness or burning is cooled, soothed, and refreshed. You can also use this to feel fresh during your period, as an after-shave, or to keep cloth pads fresh. The only draw-back for me is the strong essential oil smell announcing you’ve treated “down there,” but it’s worth it.
Woo Woo Wash This is a fabulous wash for your reusable menstrual cup. It’s also a great post-partum companion to your Muffin Mist, helping to clean and soothe. A little bit goes a long way to keeping you moisturized and balanced. I do wish it smelled a bit more inviting.
Punani Paste This lavender paste has a subtle aroma and a little bit goes a long way. You apply it directly to any sore, dry, or irritated areas. This should be in your hospital bag and then keep it on hand for flaring hemorrhoids or other issues “down there.” It is also great for dry winter skin and it does not leave behind any sticky residue.
Personal Care
Taylor’s Tooth Paste We tried the tooth paste in spearmint and I appreciated how it came in a glass container with an easy-to-use pump. This toothpaste is great for sensitive mouths and is gluten and sugar free. There is no flouride, which isn’t actually a plus for me, but I know many families will appreciate this. I feel like this toothpaste cleaned well, but it definitely didn’t have that zing of clean you feel from traditional toothpaste. It’s possible that the cinnamon might provide more of a kick. Taylor’s Toothpaste also costs $2 to $4 more than your traditional tube, with 2 to 3 fewer ounces. This is to be expected from a product that boasts all natural, local ingredients in a recycled glass container.
Taylor’s Pits Deodorant Spray I love the smell of the grapefruit vanilla! (You never thought I was going to say that in this review, did you?) This deodorant spray is refreshing and light. If you do have any irritation from shaving, it can sting a bit, but then you can try a different blend. This is great as a deodorant, body, or foot spray. The bottle does recommend “keeping it up throughout the day,” so this is not a product you simply put on in the morning and forget about. I really liked it as a deodorant, but it reminded me that I need an anti-perspirant too.
Baby Care
BALM! Baby Teething Rub We’re all seeking that miracle treatment to help our suffering, teething babies. This teething rub has the refreshing smell of clove and a very mild taste. My baby seemed to appreciate its soothing qualities and he didn’t mind the taste, which is a huge plus! I also used this rub on a sore in my own mouth and one in my 4 year-olds. I found relief with it and my older son did as well. We give this rub an enthusiastic A+!
Juice those Wipes This awesome, all-natural baby wipes concentrate makes 24 to 48 batches. It smells wonderful and can be used on cloth diaper wipes, in addition to creating your own reusable “wet wipes” for hands and faces. I love that it comes in an aluminum can that I can reuse in the future. A little bit of this concentrate goes a long way and it can be mixed with your wipes directly or put into a spray bottle for on the go. If you are using cloth diapers, taking the next step to cloth wipes just makes sense. I think that the Diaper Essentials Kit would make the perfect baby shower gift!

I love Balm Baby’s owners and their passion. I also love their products! I find the prices to be reasonable and appreciate the effort to be accessible to make a difference vs being pricey and boutiquey because it’s trendy.

I’m with Carolyn, I was almost afraid to look at them, the names were a bit confusing, and I didn’t want to be so gauche as to ask! As always, love your reviews!
