My daughter always seemed to have a bladder of steel. She actually woke up dry before she used the potty independently. We skipped expensive disposable training pants and went straight to padded underwear. We rarely dealt with accidents, with one exception: potty training on the go.
Kids can easily get tripped up by two opposites while potty training on the go – overconfidence and fear of accidents. My kids take after their father and can ignore the call of the wild for what seems like forever. This confidence can trip them up, though, when the need to go simply won’t be ignored and they find themselves in a car, train, or in a long bathroom line.
Other kids go out in public constantly worried about accidents at the park, on the bus, or the beach. They miss the security of diapers and the comfort of home. Rationally, it seems that this would make them more prepared to use the potty. That fear can be paralyzing, however, and actually lead to more accidents.
The makers of the Potette Plus know the frustration of potty training on the go. This is why they created a portable potty that you can take anywhere. The compact seat provides a sanitary seat wherever you go. The Potette Plus features:
- Contoured seat for your child’s comfort.
- Sturdy well-balanced base helps your child feel secure.
- Trainer seat or travel potty.
- Legs lock into place when opened.
- Folds flat so it can fit in a purse or diaper bag.
- Non Slip.
- Available in 5 colors.
- Works with disposable liners.
- Suitable for ages 15 months up to 50 lbs as a travel potty and for 2 years and up to 50 lbs for a folding trainer seat.
- Affordable training option.
- Reusable Liner is available for home use.
- A great potty to keep in your car, boat, camper, or RV.
You can place the folded Potette Plus in the included drawstring bag or a large wet bag, along with disposable liners, inside your diaper bag. You can also keep it set up in your car or RV to grab for emergencies. When your child needs to go and there isn’t a convenient bathroom nearby, you simply unfold the legs and attach a scented, absorbent liner. The liner absorbs like a diaper and ties closed for disposal when you are finished. Your car seats and favorite pair of pants are saved and you maintain potty training momentum!
I can imagine so many times when this potty would have been a game changer.
- The time I took three kids to people’s park in Banbury, England. It was a good 30 minute walk from our flat and an enormous, grassy park. The closest (pay) public restrooms were outside of the park, far from the playground. I remember my 3 year-old coming up to me with that “look” and I knew we weren’t going to make it to the bathrooms, plus I wasn’t sure I had the correct change. I took my son behind some bushes, praying no one would see us, then wiped him with leaves and left over lunch wrappers. I didn’t even carry a diaper bag at this point, but I would have slipped a Potette Plus in my backpack while traveling in Europe!
- The first time my daughter had one of those “oops I’ve held it too long” moments on the freeway heading home from the mall. We could have safely pulled over, but she never would have gone on the side of the road, so we ended up with a soaked car seat.
- Any time one of my children gave a public toilet the side-eye. When my youngest potty trains, I plan to keep the Potette Plus on hand to use as a kid sized alternative to public toilets or as a portable training seat.
This little seat is truly a clever solution to the potty training on the go dilemma. You can also buy it as part of the Mr. Petey Potette Potty Training Kit, featuring a motivational story book and Mr. Petey potty training companion.
