I found my first set of Re-Play divided plates at MommyCon Chicago. The kids loved the bright colors and instantly claimed a plate as their own. We began using these durable, plastic plates daily and I only had one regret about my purchase: that I did not buy more. I am excited to bring you a Re-Play recycled dishes review and giveaway, so you can bring this kid and eco-friendly option into your home!
Re-Play Recycled Dishes
Re-Play makes dishes with kids in mind. They offer plates, bowls, utensils, and cups in bright, durable, dishwasher safe plastic. This isn’t just any plastic, though. Re-Play dishes are made out of recycled HDPE plastic that is FDA tested, BPA-free, Phthalate free, and PVC free. These awesome dishes are a eco-conscious dream – eco-friendly, functional, and affordable!
My Family and Re-Play
We always reach for our Re-Play plates first. My kids only reach for a different option if all the Re-Play plates are in the dishwasher and I would like to replace all of our kid’s dishes with Re-Play. Here’s why we love Re-Play recycled dishes:
- Fun Colors – I immediately selected the rainbow set of divided plates and my kid’s love using them. They even like the colors that aren’t their current favorites. If you prefer to avoid color arguments altogether or match your decor, you can purchase single color sets as well.
- High Edges – Re-Play plates and bowls keep food in and spills to a minimum. I love that the divided plates can hold a main course in one section, bread in another, and juicy fruit in a third without issues.
- Affordable – Going green can be good for your pocketbook too. A complete toddler feeding set is just $22 and 6 stackable plates will fill your kid’s cupboard for $18.
- Space Savers – I love how beautifully these dishes stack, saving cupboard space and teaching kids to organize.
- Durable – While we haven’t tested the claim that Re-Play dishes can survive being run over by a car (yet), we have dropped them many times on different surfaces. These plates are not breaking or chipping and the kids are confident using them.
- Kid-Friendly – I love how Re-Play works for our toddler and our 9 year-old. He needs little utensils and true no-spill, durable cups. She needs dishes that are easy to set the table with, clean, and put away.
- Eco-Friendly – My family feels good about using Re-Play products. It’s awesome to imagine our dishes beginning as milk jugs and turning into dishes through the recycling process! Plus, Re-Play removes excess packaging when shipping directly (and free) from their warehouse.
Recycled Materials
HDPE plastic is essentially recycled milk jugs collected in consumer’s curbside recycling bins. HDPE, a #2 plastic, is one of easiest plastics to recycle and it can be recycled again and again. So, your Re-Play recycled dishes can be recycled, too, although I can’t imagine why you’d want to!
An Eco-Conscious Company
Re-Play keeps sustainability in mind through every part of the manufacturing and shipping process. Reducing greenhouse gases and saving energy is a top priority. Re-Play primarily a south-eastern USA operation, which reduces their carbon footprint. The Re-Play molding plant is within 150 miles of their warehouse and the packaging is just 20 miles away. Re-Play travels approximately 940 miles from material to finished product, while most conventional plastic goods made in China travel over 12,000 miles!
