Giveaway Closed, but two awesome product reviews remain!
Here at The Inquisitive Mom, I’m excited to bring you an awesome prize pack, with 3 fabulous products. The first is a pair of Baby Undersocks, soon to be an essential item in your baby’s wardrobe. The second is a Thirsties One Size AIO in Limited Edition Black from Happy Baby Bumz to make diapering a snap. The third is a Yummi Everything Storage Bag in Sweet Chevron.
Now that we have a baby in our home again, I’m enjoying the sweet site of tiny feet kicking with excitement, anticipation, and even frustration. I like to leave those tiny toes free to fly when I can, but they need to be covered in the Iowa cold.
Footie pajamas are on solution to cold feet and legs, but who wants to dress their baby in pjs every day? Tiny infant socks are another, but we all know how well those work. Infant socks problematic because they perpetually slip and fall off. If baby kicks off a tiny sock, it is a challenge to find. Put them in the wash and half of them are inevitably missing when you open the dryer.
Baby Undersocks solve all of these problems. These clever thermal pants are made of breathable bamboo, with cozy socks sewn into the bottom. You can put these trim pants on underneath your favorite outfits without adding too much bulk or warmth. They’re a great addition to baby’s wardrobe in the fall and winter!
I received a pair of Baby Undersocks to try on our little guy and immediately wanted four more pairs! We tried a pair with blue socks and I would love to see them come in other colors beyond blue and pink, such as yellow, and green. Here are the three main benefits we found when using Baby Undersocks:
- Elimates the gap between pants and socks. Have you ever found yourself constantly tugging at baby’s pants to keep their calves and ankles warm? This seems to happen the most when baby is in a baby carrier, car seat, or stroller – the main times when socks can also get lost. With Baby Undersocks, I felt confident that the chill wouldn’t reach my baby and he could stay comfortable both inside and outside.
- Adds a layer of warmth under any outfit without overheating. Soft, breathable bamboo is moisture-wicking and light weight. These pants work well under jumpers and pants. They’re perfect for giving warmer temperature clothes a longer wearing cycle. Plus, I think they’re cute enough to wear alone either under or over a onesie.
- Eliminates lost socks. This one speaks for itself. I’ll be honest, I’ve already misplaced the majority of my newborn socks and baby is only 7 weeks old. The initial cost of Baby Undersocks seeems prohibitive, but those lost socks add up.
Overall, I really like Baby Undersocks. I think they are a terrific addition to any layette and a great way to keep your little one warm this holiday season!
Thirsties One Size All-in-One from Happy Baby Bumz
Ashley opened Happy Baby Bumz in 2012 to share her passion for cloth diapering. She chose cloth diapers for her family as a way to save money and help the environment and she wanted to help others enjoy the same benefits from cloth. Ashley used cloth diapers with her first baby and is eager to use them again with her second child, due in December. Customers can confidently turn to Ashley for support and advice when choosing a diapering system for their families. Be sure to follow the Happy Baby Bumz Blog to follow along with Ashley as she discovers and tries new brands of cloth diapers with her baby and decides if they are right for her store.
Thirsties covers proved a great night time solution for Ashley’s son, so she decided to carry them in her store. In addition to their celebrated covers, Thirsties recently released two versions of an AIO – a one size and a two size (Duo). Ashley sent me a OS AIO from Thirsties to try on our son at about 5 weeks and between 9 lbs and 10 lbs. I loved the Scottish Storm pattern because it is different from anything else in my stash and opted for aplix because I believe it provides a better fit for new babies.
I’ve struggled with one size diapers on my son because of his trim frame and skinny legs. A fit around the waist often left a frustrating gap in the legs, even with wings at the waist. I will admit I doubted this diaper at first, but was pleasantly surprised to discover it fit baby very well. While it clearly has room to grow into toddlerhood, it doesn’t swamp a new baby in folds of ill-fitting fabric.
The Thirsties OS AIO is truly the easiest a one-size cloth diaper can get. The insert is attached on one end and has a total of four layers of absorbent microfiber terry. Baby stays comfortable with a micro-fleece stay-dry liner and a waterproof exterior. Plus, the diaper boasts elastic around the legs and waist. This elastic helps for a better fit on a trim baby like ours and helps to keep leaks from escaping.
While this diaper is long and probably would be a bit large fitting in its beginning weight range, it fits our baby well. I am impressed that the insert manages to be so absorbent, but avoid bulkiness, especially on a one-month old. The diaper is also convenient for rinsing, washing, and drying. With the insert attached, no stuffing or un-stuffing is required. Plus, the insert is only attached on one end, making this a quick drying diaper.
The aplix also met my expectations for a quick, comfortable fit. Snaps can work well for newborns, but I sometimes find my baby is in between rows for the “perfect fit.” Aplix can be more easily adjusted for the best possible fit. The velcro is not the stickiest I’ve experienced, so I can’t attest to how it will hold up over time, but it has worn and washed well thus far.
In the end, I liked the Thirsties One Size All-in-One so much, I’ve added it to my list of top AIOs and I plan to purchase more in the future.

Anything that entails snuggling up and vegging out w/my five kiddos is a favorite for me! PJs and stories in front of the lighted tree, making and consuming treats we don’t have any other time of the year…I’ve actually come to love staying up until 3-4 am Christmas morning wrapping presents and stuffing stockings because then I have countless opportunities to watch them sleep, and wonder if they’re dreaming of Christmas morning.
