Tots Bots sent us a surprise package a few weeks ago with a their brand new cloth diaper style. I make no secret of my love for this UK cloth diaper brand, so I couldn’t wait to get the new Tots Bots Easyfit Star All-in-One (AIO) on my son! The Easyfit Star didn’t disappoint and now it’s a star of baby’s stash.
The Easyfit Star is an update of the popular Tots Bots Easy Fit, AIO cloth diaper. It maintains some of my favorite features – waterproof tummy area, pocket for extra absorbency, the ultimate hook and loop – with a few excellent updates. These include stitch-free seams, a new bamboo core, and Oekotex chemical-free certification.
I love this short video from Tots Bots introducing how the Easy Fit Star really is as close to a disposable as cloth diapers come!
Here’s a quick run-down of the Tots Bots EasyFit All Star Features:
- Absorbent bamboo core
- Stay dry buffer zones to keep liquid locked into core
- Clever stitch free seams – no leaks
- Waterproof tummy area
- Chemical free – Oekotex certified
- Hook and look fastening
- One size fits most – 8 to 35lbs
- Made in Scotland
Fabric
The biggest change here is the bamboo core to add extra absorbency. The fabric is not as soft as the polyester, but it is still cozy. If stains are a concern for you, be aware that this bamboo seems to hold onto stains more than the polyester. This isn’t a big deal to me, but it should come out with a little sunning.
Fit
I’ve been using this cloth diaper on my 18 month-old son and I find the fit to be terrific. This baby has consistently been tall and slender, with an adorable belly. I appreciate how Tots Bots says that their diapers are “one size fits most” because I think they err on the generous side. I’ve never had small babies, so this suits my family. As I mentioned in my Pee Nut review, Tots Bots can be easily adjusted to fit smaller and trimmer babies by winging the tabs.
Absorbency
I generally stick to my tried and true Tots Bots fitteds at night, but wanted to see how the Easyfit Star worked as a night-time solution. My little guy sleeps all through the night and often wakes and immediately poops, so he really needs a night time solution that holds up to heavy wetness. I slipped in a small bamboo insert for overnight and found that he woke up leak-free and slept through the night. I consider that a winner.
Aplix
Do you see aplix or hook and loop and think, “I’m out.” I recommend setting aside your reservations for this diaper. Tots Bots uses the best aplix in the industry, in my experience, and it makes diaper changes a cinch. My active toddler has very little patience for diaper changes. Aplix makes lightening quick diaper changes possible and helps me keep my sanity. Plus, the contrasting colors of the aplix make such an adorable statement.Prints and Solids
You won’t confuse Tots Bots prints with anyone else’s. They introduced prints in classic stories not represented elsewhere, such as Rapunzel, The Elves and the Shoemaker, and The Ugly Duckling. Plus, the solids are bold, vibrant, and eye-catching; exactly what a good solid should be. You do have to pay $2 more for prints, but you also don’t have to stalk them or deal with limited edition. We tried three prints and I can’t decide if Treasure or Rapunzel is my favorite!
