If you ever doubt that the simple things make kids happy, look at these photos. Grandma Cathy sent the kids pop up Christmas cards and they thought they’d received a little piece of heaven!

Also, I promised to share some terrific recipe links from blogger and twitter friends yesterday. Sorry for the delay, but here are some delicious recipes I found:
My friend, Erin, at The Mother Load, shared this tasty recipe for her Mom’s Shortbread and I gave it a try yesterday. I love shortbread and this recipe is definitely a keeper! I am so grateful to have connected with Erin via the “mom blogger” world! She comments on my blog regularly and I always look forward to her clever and insightful posts.
Nancy (one of my twitter pals), at Diapers and Dimples shared several yummy and creative recipes on her blog. I’ve been able to try out the yummy Kettle Corn Recipe, but plan to tackle the Apple Butter and Fruit Leather over the next couple of weeks. Nancy is a giveaway expert and I think she’s got some secret fairy luck dust hidden in her pocket, so I highly recommend following her on twitter as well!
My hubby’s cousin, Annalise, is smart, funny, and an excellent baker. Her blog, And Now For Something Completely Different is always worth reading, as is her companion blog, And Now For Something Completely Delicious. I highly recommend checking out these Delicious Posts for some holiday baking inspiration: Chocolate Truffles with Sea Salt and Divinity (My Dad always made this and I plan to start a tradition with my kids today!).
Happy Baking and Merry Christmas!
