As soon as you land on the Sprout Baby website, it feels like you’ve entered a place that offers healthy, eco-conscious shopping choices. The clean white space with touches of green and orange make for an inviting, easy to navigate store. If you are seeking a site that offers products that are healthy for your family and for the planet, then Sprout Baby is an excellent choice.
I initially discovered Sprout Baby, as I often do, through twitter. Jody Sherman, one of the founders of the company, was seeking bloggers who would like to review products from their online offerings. I visited Sprout Baby’s site, was intrigued by their products, and requested an opportunity to review.
When my Sprout Baby sample products arrived, I was immediately impressed by the fast delivery. I received samples of the Episencial Playful Foaming Wash and the Episencial Sunny Sunscreen. The Episencial products are made from organic ingredients, the plastic used is phthalate and BpA free, they are manufactured with sustainable solar power, and they are made in the US. As an added bonus, the packaging is decorated with the work of the beloved writer and illustrator Eric Carle and includes a message from the author himself.
Both of my little ones, ages 1 and 3, have very sensitive skin that tends to get very dry, especially during the winter months. Bathing them too often or using too harsh of products can easily irritate their skin. They love to make messes and they love to play in the bath, so finding products that won’t irritate their sensitive skin is especially important to me. When I opened the foaming wash, I immediately loved the citrus scent and, after using it for several bath times, I found it to be gentle and non-irritating for my little ones.
The Episencial Sunny Sunscreen is amazingly light and non-greasy. It’s so important to use sunscreen for the family, but the kids often resist it because of the heavy texture. This product is like a light lotion with a gentle scent. When rubbed in properly, it does not leave a white film or greasy residue like so many commercial sunscreens I’ve used. This is a product that also leaves the skin feeling soft and something I could see my kids allowing me to apply several times throughout a summer day.
The baby bath and skin care products I tried are just the beginning of what Sprout Baby has to offer. This site is truly a one-stop shop for natural and organic product choices for the entire family. They carry a selection of reusable diapers, as well as compostable, biodegradable disposable diapers. They also carry unique feeding products, diapering accessories, home cleaning products, health care products, and the list goes on.
When you’re looking for options that meet the Lazy Environmentalist test, it doesn’t get much easier than Sprout Baby. Sprout Baby products are selected based on extensive research and recommendations. They do all of the legwork, so you can visit one place you trust to find a variety of healthy, earth-friendly options.Their high standards take into consideration not only the ingredients used to make the products they carry, but the manufacturing processes, as well as the packaging involved. You may pay a little bit more for these products, but in doing so, you are truly supporting sustainable practices.
As I work to live a more eco-conscious lifestyle and stay within a budget, I plan to look to companies such as Sprout Baby to help me make informed choices. Many Sprout Baby offerings are eligible for free shipping when you spend $75, helping to eliminate that extra cost. Additionally, they offer a Sprout Baby Club so that parents can save on shipments of their delicious looking selections of organic baby food. One you’re a member of the club, you can sign in and receive special member pricing on other items every time you shop.
This company seems so cool. I would love to try the citrus scented wash and I can’t believe biodegradable diapers exist!
