Sometimes I like to say we have Fancy Nancy come to life in our house. Miss Ella, now six, is enamored with all things fancy, sparkly, feminine, lacy, pretty, and fun. She wears mismatched socks, leg warmers on her arms, multiple flowers in her hair, and tutus over leggings. Ella has a flair for the fabulous and doesn’t let clashing patterns or bold statements deter her.
Girls Crochet Headbands also generously sent Ella a wonderful selection of pink, black, and ballet themed items to review for own giveaway on The Inquisitive Mom! When the package arrived, I couldn’t wait for Ella to come home from school to see it, knowing she’d swoon over all that pink and ruffles. Swoon she did, immediately taking off her school clothes to replace it with a white tutu, Zebra Cotton Legwarmers with a Ruffle on her arms, pink ruffles on her legs, a Hot Pink Elastic Headband with Loop, and a White and Pink Ballerina Star Flower. Best of all – all that fabulousness came in under $15!
I appreciated the opportunity to see different items from the website, especially a selection of headbands. While headbands are ideal for taming those unruly wispies in the front of a little girl’s growing hair, we have yet to find one that endures during the day, and Ella dislikes the feel of hard headbands. I love the look of both the lace headbands and the 3/4 elastic headbands, but found the latter tends to stay longer in Ella’s hair. Both slip a bit by her neck, but she has very soft hair and this is common. I find that combining it with a flower clip at the top helps with staying power.
The pink romper became perhaps the biggest surprise in the package for me. I searched the website right before Halloween, loving the romper costume combinations. I drooled over the bloomers sets for babies, like this Black, White, and Pink All Over Photographer Sample Package. Ella seemed too old for a romper, but wanted to try hers one day, so we put this Baby Pink Romper over a cream shirt and some leggings, then added some black ruffle legwarmers, a headband, and a sparkly black flower for her signature flair.
